Kara's frozen for a brief second, staring in disbelief at Taako's retreating back, before she sucks in an angered breath and stomps after him.

"Hey!" she calls, a loud hissed whisper in the wake of everything. They're not at a funeral, exactly, but it feels like one, only worse.

She darts in front of him too-fast to track and roots herself in his path. "Didn't you say you were a wizard? And a hero? What was all that about a train and saving a city? You could help me do this." She gestures at the other party-goers. "You could help save these people."
