By the time Kara floats back up, Noël has fetched his cane; he can't do anything to help while he's unarmed, after all. It's changing in his hands, though, crystalline light twinkling around it like sunlight glittering on freshly fallen snow--instead of a gaudily candy cane-striped cane that a gentleman might carry, it's becoming a more proper staff now, long and black, a shining silver orb nestled within prongs that frame it almost like a spear. "Frankly, I don't care what you asked me. If it's not Christmas, I don't have to do requests--I just have to do my job."

He points his staff out the window to aim below and past Kara, breath steaming in air that turns momentarily frigid with a surge of power; this is why he usually fights dressed so warmly. "Silver mirror."

All at once, a sheen of ice rolls out over the street, perfectly smooth and slick--for someone like Kara, who can simply stay airborne, the change is probably completely inconsequential. For land-bound monsters like the ones they're going to be facing, though? If they can't gain any traction, then they can't gain any leverage, which means bringing their strength to bear will be nearly impossible. They may not even be able to navigate on it at all; mobility under such slippery conditions is a struggle at best. If the strategic advantage is as decisive as he hopes, then as long as Kara can stay in the air, this fight should be like shooting fish in a barrel.
